NYC, LONDON, PARIS, MILAN- fashion mania for International Fashion Weeks!!!

Its the time when fashion’s finest step out to show the world what trends are hot & what we’ll be wearing this coming Spring & Summer… Kicking off the season in New York, and followed closely by London, International Fashion Weeks are always held in the coolest locations – with designers, mag editors, celebs, models and the it-crowd/ brat-pack lining up for their front row seats to the hottest shows in Fashion. It’s the most exciting time for fashion, there’s a buzz, a magnetic energy that you can’t help but get caught up in. You become obsessed with wanting to know- Who’s doing what- who’s got ‘it’ & who hasn’t, who’s the first face & whats the look for the top fashion houses, what’s the latest style in hair, make-up, shoes, accessories, colour???? It’s maniacal, but it’s a beautiful thing… Yes, it’s those of us who call ourselves fashion fanatics (if we aren’t lucky enough to have front row – or even ANY seats at all) that find ourselves glued to foxtel’s FTV- (Fashion TV) to catch a glimpse at the shows from the comfort of our living rooms (at least we didn’t have to stress over what to wear!!)

At itsthenewblack, we’ve been admiring the shows via FTV- keeping a close eye on the latest amazing looks to come out of London and NYC so far… No we may not have been front row- but we have had a little Parisian spy checking out the scenes in Paris in the lead up to Paris Fashion Week for us. Take a look at the snaps below, street scenes, shop windows, a Vogue Mini… Fab shots! Also see some runway shots from Max Azria & Tadeshi Shoji- ahhmaaazing!!

So, we know we can’t all be able to afford a knock-out piece by BCBG MAX AZRIA or a flawless TADASHI SHOJI gown, or a 3.1 PHILIP LIM denim jacket, and we may not have the legs of the statuesqe models but we can be inspired, grab ideas & get excited to create our own looks with our own unique style and creative fashion flare. It’s about loving fashion, admiring the talent, the beauty and the artistic creations, getting swept away by the glamour and theatrics of it all- but remembering to love it for what it is and let practicality and real life back into the picture once again… But not too real.. We still want the beautiful things… just, we are happy with who we are, and what we have, that’s all!
So, be inspired, fall in love with Fashion again & shop your little heart out at itsthenewblack to fulfill all your style desires

Animal Print has always had it’s loyal followers and a constant presence on the fashion radar, but now, more than ever it’s hit the hot list in a new, revived & uber cool way. No longer is it a trend directed at a particular age-group or style set – it’s fab, rock & glam all rolled in to one. Top fashion houses like Louis Vuitton, Givenchy & Roberto Cavalli have produced beautiful animal inspired creations for their Spring Summer 2011 collections, there’s Leopoard, Zebra, Python, Tiger in all shapes and forms – dresses, coates, shoes, handbags & even nailpolish….& it’s now hitting the streets, so if you’re not wearing it yet – well….

I know what you’re thinking – when did animal print become tasteful & not tacky? How do I wear it without feeling overdone / overstyled? The key is don’t overdo it. Keep a minimal look for the base of your outfit, a simple jean, tank, boot/heel/flat – keep it tonal and cool, then accentuate it by introducing one piece of animal print. itsthenewblack have sourced the perfect animal print accessory to fill this void in your life and bring you up to date -

Tolani’s beautifully executed Leopard print scarves are it. They’ve found the ‘right’ print… The colours are that perfect blend of tones that spells “class” and you’ll love wearing it, the fine, soft cotton bleand, so smooth against your skin… mmmmm we  it!

Naturally, the team @ Tigerlily have made sure they have you covered for your swimwear too..

So, how are you wearing your animal print this season? …..Grrrrr xx
